Andria Kroona

Master Colorist/Owner

Andria is an artist. She’s a master hair colorist, with a passion for creative cutting, styling and color.

Currently she’s “layering multi-tonal color in people’s hair to create dimension,” she says. “I gradually lighten up the hair by adding subtle dimension to the ends of darker strands and bringing up the root color. It’s a fun way to change up your regular look.”

Would you be surprised to learn Andria’s also a painter? “When I have the time!” she says. Andria’s a “busy, busy, busy” wife and mother of two kids (a boy and a girl). They love spending time in the park, at the zoo and in the pool. But when she can, Andria paints with oils, making large abstract work. She’s also a photographer.

Andria began her career after graduating from the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis in 2002. For ten years, she worked at the largest Aveda concept salon in the Twin Cities as a master color technician. She continues her education by regularly taking classes from such industry leaders as David Adams, Lupe Voss and Jon Raymond.

Her favorite product line at Urban Village is Oribe, “because of its lovely smell, and how it gives your hair incredible shine, bounce and life!” With her co-owners at Urban Village, Andria has assembled a team in which “everyone is so happy to work at what they’re experts in. The salon is a positive, fun, fresh place to work. And our clients love coming here because it’s comfortable and relaxing, yet upbeat.”

Andria’s favorite Pandora stations change all the time and she likes to adjust it based on the feeling of the salon at that time. “Just as a slight shift in music can change your mind or mood, so can a simple change to your hair change your outlook,” she says. “If your hair is working for you, but you’re still wanting something different, let’s make a subtle change. You don’t have to go to extremes for people to notice.”
